The hard thing about new doors opening is that in order to walk through the new door you need to walk out of the one you are currently in.
This past Sunday I read my resignation letter to the Church where I have had the honor of serving for the past 5 years.
It was difficult for sure, but the thing about God's work is that to go through a new door doesn't mean totally closing off the old door because as Christ followers we're all in the same family!
I'm looking forward to what God has in store through this new door, but I'm also praising God for what He's done...so, for those who weren't at my church on sunday here's the statement I read to my church family at MHCCC...
Dear MHCCC Family,
On behalf of my family and myself, I want to say thank you for extending the call to us to come and serve alongside each of you at MHCCC.
I can truly say that these last five years have been encouraging, challenging, faith stretching and inspiring as we’ve seen God continue to expand His Kingdom through our prayerful efforts. I know that it was a big step for the church to hire an English Ministries Pastor, and I will always be grateful that I had the opportunity to serve as MHCCC’s first EM Pastor.
I said it when you hired me and I’ll continue to say it, “It’s a privilege to serve as the Pastor of EM at MHCCC.” With that said, I want to let you know that last Sunday (5/31/15) Union Church of Rockville, CT voted to extend the call for me to join them as their next Senior Pastor and I prayerfully accepted the call.
So, today I am officially notifying the church of my resignation and I will now begin the transitioning process of leaving MHCCC in a God-Honoring way and preparing my family for the move to where God is leading us.
The Deacons and I have agreed that in order to make sure our family is moved and settled in time for our kids to begin school on time, July 31st will be my last official day as the Pastor of EM at MHCCC. Once again, we have been so blessed to have had the honor of serving the Lord with all of you and look forward to keeping in touch and praying for the ministry of MHCCC.
Because of Jesus,
Pastor Brent Carl
